      Hello @physiopooja19,

      You state your preference in your first sentence, you provide two reasons for your preference which is very good.

      If you explain your reasons in a shorter time, you will be able to give an example which will increase your score.

      There are minor grammatical structure errors. Minor difficulties with pronunciation are noticeable and may require listener effort at times. If you submit your written response we can talk about specific grammatical errors in detail. Feel free to answer other questions. Practice makes perfect ๐Ÿ™‚

        Thanks for the comments.

        Let me put my audio into words as you want it.

        In my opinion, saving money is better than spending the money as soon as you get it for various reasons.

        First and foremost, you don’t know when you require money and if you spend the money as soon as you get it, you may go bankrupt and might require money to do things. In which case, obviously, you would be in trouble.

        The second reason is you can always save money and use it for any future purpose as in any emergency cases, say you have acquired some illness or say you are met with an accident, then obviously you would be needing money to solve your problems.

        So… because of this reasons, I think or I believe that saving money is better than spending it as soon as you get it.

        My mistake.

        I thought you made comments for my answer.

      Dear @thirumaloth,

      We have listened to your responses, as well. Your response is very good.

      Only minor grammatical errors. You say, “The second reason is (THAT) + the sentence”. You should use “that” before stating the sentence. -OR- You can say “Secondly,” and then state the sentence.

      We encourage interaction between members. So, feel free to write your comments or questions. Also, if you have any recommendations to make this website better, let us know. If you invite your friends here to practice together, it will be more fun.

        Dear Krista,

        While recording your answer there are two buttons on the left, one big gray square button and a smaller red circle button. Red circle button pauses and resumes the recording. Use big gray button to finish your recording. It will turn into a play button.

        If you want to listen to your answer, you can play it. Then you can either use “record again” button under the big play button or submit your answer.

        The problem you’re having is that you don’t finish your recording by clicking on the finish recording button which is big, gray and square.

        Please contact us if you’ve any questions.

    In my opinion, it’s better to save money because it increases the possibilities to do things and allows me to use it when I’m older.
    First of all, by saving money I can have a wider range of possibilities to use it. For instance, after a year that I have saved money I was able to travel to my home country and see my extended family.
    The second reason why I think it is better to save money is that it can assure a comfortable life when I get old. For example, my mom saved money since she started working, so now she is able to do things that she likes, like traveling.
    That’s why I think it is better to save money.

      Dear @Marbea,

      The Score: 4/4

      The response addresses the task appropriately. It is coherent, sustained and conveys relevant ideas/information. Relationship between ideas are clear.

      Speech is generally clear with some fluidity of expression. Minor difficulties with intonation are noticeable. Though overall intelligibility is not significantly affected.

      Response exhibits some imprecise use of grammatical structures. But it does not seriously interfere with the communication of the message.

      Instead of;
      “after a year that I have saved money I was able to travel …”
      You may say;
      “after I HAD saved money for a year, I WAS able to travel …”

      “The second reason why … is that …” are redundant expressions.
      You may just say “Secondly, …”
      It will also save you time.

      Hi @Anna,

      The Score: 4/4

      Some corrections:

      At the beginning of your response, you say;
      “For me, I prefer to save my money rather to than to spend it.”
      Since you say “I prefer …”, “For me,” is redundant.
      And there is no “to” between “rather” and “than”.
      You may say, “I prefer to save my money rather than to spend it.”
      Most people find “I prefer … rather than …” confusing, and make mistakes while using it.
      The easiest way is to use the question to start your response;
      “In my view, to save your money is better than to spend it as soon as you get it for two reasons.”

      While giving the first reason, you say;
      “Like for example …”
      “Like” and “For example” might be considered redundant together, and you would be recommended to omit “Like”.
      And I guess you wanted to say “You have an accident” (instead of “need”).

      While giving the second reason, you say;
      “Second would be + sentence”
      You should omit “would be”.

      For the first reason you use “You”, and for the second reason you use “I”. It is better to choose one of them and use it consistently.

      Evaluation:

      The response addresses the task appropriately.

      Speech is clear. Pronunciation is very good. Minor difficulties with pacing are noticeable.

      Response exhibits some imprecise and inaccurate use of grammatical structures. But it does not seriously interfere with the communication of the message.

      Response is coherent, sustained and conveys relevant ideas / information. Relationships between ideas are clear.
